A Beautiful Winter Wedding
I was delighted when, back in 2020, Sam and Jamie chose me to capture their big day. We met for their engagement session in October, just a month prior to the wedding at Burnham Beeches. I loved their relaxed and forward attitude and sense of humour I can relate to. I knew that their wedding day was going to be full of joy, fun and laughter and oh my goodness, it was all of that and more.

Bridal Preparation
What is better than getting ready for your wedding whilst listening to Christmas songs? From bridal preparation I usually expect some nerves, stress, rush and sometimes even panic, this time, there was none of that. We surely had a lot of fun, shed some tears, you know, the good ones, sparkles and bubbles. The day was overcast but the barn was glowing with fairy lights and the atmosphere was just magical. Ah... I love winter weddings.

Ceremony
I left my bride with her parents, bridesmaids and her beautiful flower girl, and went to meet the 'slightly' nervous groom. He was waiting for his bride in the ceremony room where all the guests gathered by now. After few minutes of anticipation, the bridal party arrived.
Formals and Bride and Groom alone
The day was very cold, so mindful of the brave bride and her party, I worked as fast as I could. I always try to keep this part of the day as short and organised as possible. Nobody likes posing for group portraits when the bar is open, especially when it's so cold outside! I had a great help from bridesmaids, who helped gathering people for the photos and the guests were very cooperative, so we were done very quickly. I always love taking photos of bride and groom alone. It's usually their very first opportunity to focus on each other as a married couple. The pressure of the ceremony is gone and they can both relax and start enjoying the rest of their celebration.
Reception
The reception started with a three course meal. Since no one likes a photo of them eating, I focused on taking some more shots of the venue and some other details. After the meal, the order of the thing was rather traditional with speeches, followed by cutting the cake and the first dance.
